20 companies receive EPA clearance to produce E15

Twenty companies have received clearance from the Environmental Protection Agency to begin producing E15, bringing the fuel a step closer to commercial availability. “Registration of ethanol to make E15 is a significant step toward its production, sale, and use in model year 2001 and newer gasoline-fueled cars and light trucks,” EPA said. “Perhaps as early as summer, we could see E15 at fuel stations in the heartland of America,” said Bob Dinneen, president and CEO of the Renewable Fuels Association.
